Wow, I am very behind on my posting. I apologize in advance, because this may be a rather lengthy post.
Day 14- I am thankful for rest.
It was a pretty uneventful day, where I just went to work and came home. But, I am lucky that I did not have to rush to pick kids up from school, make sure dinner is prepared, get homework done, venture out to a second job just to make ends meet, etc. I could just rest.
Day 15- I am thankful for Pay Day
I often joke that it's not really pay day, it's more like pay bills day. But, in reality, I am grateful that I do get paid and am able to pay my bills and even had a tad bit left over for the occasional "splurge."
Day 16- I am thankful for my health
I missed work that day due to a horrible migraine. I called in and then took some Imitrex, which never fails to knock me out. Even though, I have suffered from horrible headaches since my Jr. year of high school, I am fortunate enough to be relatively healthy. My discomfort is mild compared to those who are fighting chronic illnesses such as Cancer, ALS, MD, MS, etc. and experience constant pain.
Day 17- I am thankful for food (and plenty of it)
Today at work we had our annual Thanksgiving pot luck. Of course, we had turkey, dressing, ham, mac n cheese, green beans, potato casserole, more pasta salads than I knew existed and much more. And, of course, I ate way too much food. I am blessed that I never have to wonder when my next meal will be. If you know me at all, you know that eating is just about one of my favorite activities. My biggest decision, when it comes to food, is always "What do I want to eat?" rather than "When will I get to eat again?" and for that, I'm grateful.
Day 18- I am thankful for safe travels for my Pops
My dad had been in Jerusalem all week and finally came home Thursday/Friday. He went from Jerusalem to Tel Aviv to Amsterdam and finally home to the US. I'm so glad he made it home safely and had a great week. And, on another note, a friend of mine was one of the flight attendants on his flight from Amsterdam to the US! I'm so jealous...I'm hoping one day, I'll get to be on one of Amy's flights :)
Day 19- I am thankful for weekends
This may sound silly, but I am thankful for weekends, especially after long and crazy work weeks. It's a great time to rejuvenate from the work rut!
Day 20- I am thankful for my church
I have missed the last few weeks of church for various reasons, but I went yesterday. Collierville UMC really is a special place with some very special people.
Until next time...BE THANKFUL
Hopefully, now that I'm caught up, I will not get behind again. Here's to hoping....
