Today I'm thankful for my job (and all the jobs I've had). It is a very busy and stressful time at work right now. We are right in the middle of Annual Enrollment so things are hectic to say the least. I think part of my ongoing migraine/headache is partly due to stress. But, in a time when so many are without jobs, I'm thankful that I do have a job and am able to earn my living.
Along this line, I would not be where I am today, career wise, if it weren't for a former employer, David. David took a chance on a college student who thought she wanted to be a "bean counter" and hired me to oversee his back office duties. What I didn't know when I took that job, is that it would be the beginning of my career. David introduced me to the world of employee benefits and encouraged me to get my license to sell insurance. I quickly learned that Human Resources is where I belonged, and employee benefits is my passion. Not only did David employ me, he also welcomed me into his family. There will always be a place in my heart for David, Marilynn, Alex, and Grant.
Until next time.... BE THANKFUL
