WHAT A WEEKEND

Wow, what a weekend. I had some great times with some of my best friends. Friday evening, a good friend came and we grilled (gotta love the George...Foreman, that is) hamburgers...yum. I won't go into much detail about Saturday since I've already written about it. But, I must say, I had a blast at the Saucer...except eating too much greasy food and getting sick. Yes, that was the end of my beer drinking for the night. And no, the getting sick and drinking beer had nothing to do with each other. For the past five or six years or so, I've had spurts when I randomly get sick to my stomach. It's not fun, but at least now I have medicine that somewhat controls the uncontrollable barfing.

This morning at church, I started helping with the 8th grade girls bible study class. Their leader, Laura Kigwebe, is pretty much amazing, and the group of girls are awesome. I'm so excited about getting to know them better over the summer. After church, it was off to lunch. We went to one of our usual eateries, Lee Kan's and it was great, as always. They have some of the best sushi...yummy! After lunch, Taylor and I went to see the new Sex and the City movie. I have to say, it was much better than I expected, but not the best movie I've ever seen.

After the movie, it was off to Jackson, TN for a dinner meeting and opening of Annual Conference. Tonight's ordination service is the only event I attended since a good friend was getting ordained. It's very strange not to be there this year. This is the first Conference I've missed in over 10 years. As boring as some of the meetings are, I will still miss not being there. I secretly enjoy church polity. I do not, however, enjoy arguing back and forth over small issues, which happens often. But, I think my favorite part about Conference is always seeing old friends and making new ones within the family of Christ. I pray that God's hand is continuously over every aspect of the Conference over the next two days.

Like I said: Wow! What a weekend. Until next time...Peace Out!
