PEDICURES, DRESS SHOPPING, & EATING

This morning started off great. I got to sleep in for a change with no interruptions! Once I got up and ready, I went and got a pedicure. My toes were in need of a little TLC. I just don't understand how they paint my nails so great. I try to paint them and I have polish all over my nails and toes and it doesn't look near as nice.

I decided I was hungry because getting pampered is hard work, you know. So, I went to Sonic and got a banana milkshake...which happened to be on sale for $0.99. After that, it was off to get my car washed.

Now, the highlight of my day: I went bridesmaid dress shopping with my future sister-in-law. We picked out a very pretty dress that we both really liked. It's going to be in apple (red) which will look great with her dress. Check out the dress at www.davidsbridal.com (the style number is 8585). As I'm writing I'm watching My Big Fat Greek Wedding on TV and looking at those awful bridesmaid's dresses. Thanks, Shannon, for not picking out something hideous :).

Next, it was off to lunch at my parent's house. My dad picked up bar-b-que from the best bar-b-que place in Memphis- the Germantown Commissary. We had bar-b-que sandwiches and my mom made bar-b-que nachos. Just a couple of hours later, I went with some friends to a fish fry at a sister United Methodist Church. They had cooked 150 pounds of catfish along with french fries, hush puppies, cole slaw, and cobbler for dessert. Of course, I found room in my stomach to eat more food. I was also able to catch up with some old friends who used to be members at CUMC. I had not seen them in several years, so it was nice to catch up.

Back at my parent's house, I was able to visit with some of my mom's family. My grandmother and aunt are in town for the weekend and one of my mom's cousins came over for supper.

All-in-all it was pretty productive day. If only my IRS rebate check would hurry up and come in the mail...

Until next time...keep eatin'
