Today was hot and windy. We (my Pops, 2 of his golfing buddies, and myself) went to the Stanford/ St. Jude golf tournament. I absolutely love going out there, but I'm always exhausted when I get home. This year, we had tickets to the "Pavilion" which was an enclosed area with food, drinks, seats, and AC. We ate roasted potatoes, corn on the cob, prime rib sandwiches, cold cuts, ice cream, and more. Plus, they have unlimited drinks. We were hooked up. From there, we could see the fairway shot to the 18th green. It just so happened that Big John Daley was coming through right when we got there. He drove the ball about 91 feet away from the hole and ended his round with a birdie! He's still in a pretty good position to make the cut, if he plays well tomorrow.
After a short break and trip to Starbucks, we made our way over to the Stanford Marquee on the 11th hole. A good friend of ours was in charge of that tent, so we went up to visit with him. There they had chips/queso, bar-b-que, fried shrimp, salmon, ice cream, and more. We were so full from the other tent that we could only eat a few nachos and, of course, I managed to scarf down my third ice cream product of the afternoon :). There, we saw Kris Cox triple bogey a par 3 hole!!! I'm sure he was not a happy camper after that.
This year, the tournament is having "Seersucker Sunday" and the winner will be presented a seersucker jacket. Hahaha, I love it. Only in the south...
There is no way I should be hungry after all the food I ate this afternoon, but I'm feeling a bit "empty." I think I should eat a snack before bed.
Until next time...Eagles for St. Jude
