Adventures of a Wanna Be Foodie- J. Alexander's

Yes, J. Alexander's is a chain restaurant, but it is not one you will find on every block. My aunt and uncle frequent J. Al's pretty regularly, so I've gotten to know some of the servers over the last year or so. Honestly, everything I've tried has been delicious.
This past Friday night I started my night off with a pomegranate martini. I'm not crazy about pomegranates, but these are delicious. I think I love them so much because they're made with Grey Goose vodka, rather than gin. Also, all martinis come with the side car, so you basically get two at once!

Next up was queso dip. Unfortunately, I forgot to get a picture. I am a bit disappointed, though, because they no longer serve salsa with the queso. They now serve it with pico de gallo, and it's just not as good.
It's always a toss-up for my favorite entree. I usually end up ordering either the crab cakes or the filet. Hands down, no question, I always order mac and cheese for my side. Last night, it was crab cakes.

As if this wasn't enough food, it just happened to be creme brûlée night. The four of us (Dad, Unc, Aunt, and myself) ordered two creme brûlée and a key lime pie.

And, no dessert at J. Al's is complete without a chocolate martini (aka "grown up chocolate milk").

Some of my other favorite menu items include:
~Salmon Dip Appetizer
~Filet
~Salmon
~Rattlesnake Pasta
~Cheeseburger
~Prime Rib Sandwich
If you go to J. Alexander's in Cordova, stop by the bar and say hello to Denise, Michael, Morgan, Benny, John, and Cassidy.
Until next time...happy dining.
