Adventures of a Wanna Be Foodie- Lee Kan

For many years, the Durbin clan could be spotted at a Collierville eating establishment for Sunday lunch. It was the standard routine- everyone waits around for Dad to finish shaking hands, and then the most important discussion of the day...where is lunch going to take place. We have our usual list of places where we often frequent on Sunday's. Once we decide we all get in our respective vehicles and quickly meet-up again. At least two out of four Sundays in a month we end up at Lee Kan.

Lee Kan is a unique Asian restaurant that serves Chinese food and sushi. If you ever go to Lee Kan, you must try the Velvet Roll. Even if you aren't a sushi eater, you will like this roll.

So many people refuse to even try sushi because they don't like the idea of eating raw fish. Please note, it is fully cooked, so you are NOT eating raw food.

Some other great menu options include:
• Grilled Teriyaki with your choice of steak and chicken or steak and shrimp. Both are excellent options and come with fried or steamed rice.
• Fried Rice for the Brazen Fool with your choice of chicken, steak, or shrimp. This is your normal fried rice with a big kick. They use several different peppers to give this dish a kick. I'd order it more often, but I'm just not crazy about the flavor of habenero peppers. As they say on the menu, "mild is not an option." (Don't fret, they also have Fried Rice for the Wise and Hawaiian Fried Rice options.)
• My favorite sushi rolls, in addition to the Velvet Roll featured above, include Crunchy Shrimp Roll, Philadelphia Roll, and Spicy Crawfish Roll.

The lunch menu is served daily and all entrees come at a reduced price and include your choice of Hot and Sour Soup or Egg Drop Soup. The dinner menu has a broader selection of entrees, but does not include soup. Lee Kan has a nice party room for a large crowd, as well as two smaller private rooms with a door that closes...perfect for a dining adventure with Miss Claire and Mr. Harrison!

I might also add, Lee Kan has the nicest restroom facilities of any restaurant!

Until next time...HAPPY DINING

Side note- this is my first attempt at an amateur food critic review. I hope you enjoy. Stay tuned for more food/restaurant critiques...
