East Tennessee

This past week I've been working in East Tennessee. It was perfect because I had the opportunity to go over to Lake Junaluska (one of the coolest places) for the weekend. I took note of a few things while traveling to the other end of the state:

1. East TNers do not believe in a fast lane on I-40. They will drive 60 mph in a 70 mph zone in the left hand lane.
2. The town of Greeneville hosts a Basket Weaving Convention. Unfortunately, this was not going on while I was there.
3. There is a whole different language in East TN- "you'ns" (I guess this is how you spell it) takes the place of y'all (my personal word of choice) when referring to a group of people, and "youngins" is used to refer to children/kids.
4. Brick Oven is one of the coolest restaurants I've ever been to. I mean, where else can you get Italian, American, Chinese, and Thai cuisine all under one roof?
5. There is actually a town names Parrotsville...none of the people I was working with this past week had ever heard of it (and one of them is a resident of East TN). I wonder if Jimmy Buffett has ever been there?

Well, this is all I can think of for now, seeing as how I'm extremely exhausted from my drive home. I'll post more as they come to mind. All in all, I enjoyed my visit in East TN, and it was lovely to meet everyone who works in that office. It's great to put faces with all the names, phone calls, and emails!!

Until next time...ROCKY TOP, YOU'LL NEVER BE, HOME SWEET HOME TO ME
