This past week has been pretty stressful. We've been getting ready for our annual survey at work, so there's been a lot of last minute things to do to prepare. I've never done so much filing in my entire life. Our state survey is sort-of like an annual audit, except they look at much more than just financial books. They go over everything in our policy and procedure manual, then go out and make sure we're actually following these policies, as well as providing the best care for the individuals we support. Needless to say, I was very ready for the weekend.
Friday night I went to a pirate birthday party for my friend Jacob, who was turning 4. We had a hotdog roast, ate cupcake cones, and did pirate crafts. I made a pirate hat and two eye patches...but I left them at Kristi's house. My good friend Taylor drove up from Jackson for the party, so she got to spend the night with me. Woo hoo for grown up slumber parties...I think we went to bed as soon as we got home. I don't have any pics from the party, but check out my friend Kristi's blog for photos.
Saturday morning, I was pretty lazy, but it was nice. That night some friends came into town and we went to the Memphis vs Nichols State game. Memphis actually won!!!! The fair happened to be in town, so I got a funnel cake before the game. Yummy. Our tickets were in the sky box so, of course, I ate more food.
The bummer part of the weekend came Sunday, when I had a headache ALL day long. I pretty much slept the entire day. Death to allergies.
