THE BROTHER GOT HITCHED

I have a sister! Don't freak out, my parents did NOT have a baby (thank goodness). This has been one busy but exciting Labor Day weekend. My brother finally got married. I say finally because they have been dating for 7 years. The festivities began with a bridal luncheon at my house. Not everyone could make it, because most people had to work on Friday. But, those of us who were there had a good time and enjoyed visiting. I made a spinach dip that my good friend Taylor introduced me to. Thanks Taylor...it was delicious!

The rehearsal and dinner were that evening. Everything was smooth sailing at the rehearsal, then we were off to dinner at Brooklyn Bridge. If you're ever going out for a nice dinner, Brooklyn Bridge is excellent. I had the bacon-wrapped fillet...delicious! Saturday came and went so fast. We went to my parent's house for lunch. I had to run to the store to take care of some last minute things before going to the church. I got to the church and helped Shannon a little bit before getting dressed myself. We took some pictures, visited with family as they arrived, then it was go time.

This is our cousin, Jake, who was the ring-bearer and me before the wedding:
Harry D. had to pretty much stay in the choir room, so he wouldn't see Shannon. Gotta love sibling pics:Here we are with Ali and Jake before the wedding:
The wedding was pretty short but very nice. My dad got to officiate and they got married at our Sanctuary on the Square. It was very pretty. Here I am going to the reception. It wouldn't be a picture unless I'm doing something goofy:Shannon's grandmother and friends did all the food for the reception. They requested the same type food that would be at any normal family get-together. Therefore, we had smoked ham and turkey sandwiches, pigs in a blanket, rotel dip and chips, fresh fruit and veggies and more. Harry D did not want a groom's cake. Instead, he requested yellow cupcakes with chocolate icing. So, they had cupcake trees in lieu of another cake.

Jake and I were ready for them to hurry up and cut the cake:
Ahh, they cut the cake and it was yummy:
To my brother and new sister- CONGRATS!!! I wish you both the best. And feel free to re-gift any of those wedding presents you got...I'll gladly take any of them.

Until next time...THERE WENT THE BRIDE, BIG FAT AND WIDE
THERE WENT THE GROOM, SKINNY AS A BROOM
THERE WENT THE USHER, THE OLD TOILET FLUSHER
