New Year, New Me

Is it just me, or does it seem like it should only be about August still?! I feel like 2011 came and went, and am wondering what I have to show for it. So, here's a recap of 2011:

Apparently, not much excitement happened until March when my nephew, Harrison, was baptized. That was a special day shared with friends and family.

That Spring, I took some ballroom dance lessons. The verdict is...I am so uncoordinated and pretty much suck at ballroom dancing! I also ran my first ever 5K, which led me to start running. In the course of the year, I managed to run seven 5K's (3.1 miles), a four-mile race, two five-mile races, two 10K's (6.2 miles), and a half-marathon. More about the half-marathon later.

April was a blast because I went on an awesome cruise to San Juan, St. Thomas, St. Lucia, Antigua, and Barbados.

Here are some pics:

I bought a new (to me) vehicle in May. I needed a new ride like I needed a hole in my head, but I love it!

June brought a drastic change to our family. My dad took a new position/special appointment at Methodist Hospital. It is still very odd not to see him in the pulpit every week, but he is really enjoying his new job.

2011 also marked the first year the Grizzlies made it to the NBA Play-Offs. That made for some long nights and sleepy work days, but I went to every game I could.

The summer was extremely hot and made me totally HATE running. I started seriously training for my half-marathon in June.

November was Birthday Month!! I turned the big 30 this year. Harry D. and Shannon hosted an awesome birthday party with our bestest friends. I have no pictures, but we all had fun.

December, was the big half-marathon. This is what I had been training for over the last 6 months!! I still can't believe I ran 13.1 miles straight!!!

I blinked and it's already 2012!!

Until next time...HAPPY NEW YEAR
