WEEKEND, WHERE DID YOU GO?

Wow, it's been an unusually rainy and cool July. Typical Memphis weather, we found June to be extremely HOT and miserable and then greeted July with moderate temps and tons of rain. And, from what it looks like August is coming in with a vengeance. Temps are supposed to be hot and humid this week.

This past Thursday, we had tons of rain and a few tornadoes. The Wolfchase area was hit pretty hard, but luckily no one was seriously injured and NO fatalities!! Once all the warnings ended, I picked up Claire-bear and took her to Collierville (her mommy and daddy got to have a night out). We were supposed to go to the concert on the square, but those plans were cancelled due to the weather. So, mom made BLT's for supper and, at my request, peanut butter rice krispy treats for dessert. It was Claire's 7-month birthday, so we had to celebrate. Unfortunately, Claire only got to eat squash and drink a bottle.

My dad left to go out of town on Friday, so we had a girls day on Saturday. Mom, Shannon, and I went to get pedicures. The color I picked out is called "I don't do dishes." Pedicures are definitely one of life's great luxuries.

I know I have funny-looking feet, but I'm ok with that. Red toes are definitely fun!!!

After pedicures, we went to eat lunch at Crepe Maker. If you've never been, you definitely need to go. I was starving so I didn't take any time to take pics of the crepes. I had the Chicken Fajita entree crepe, which is pretty much like it sounds. It has grilled chicken, grilled peppers (I omitted the onions), cheese, salsa, guacamole, etc. For dessert, I had the To Die For. It has strawberries, bananas, cheese cake, dulce de leche (caramel), and whipped cream. YUM-O!!!! Then, if off to do a bit of window shopping. We only went to a few stores, but it was a great day nontheless.

Later that evening, Harry D, Shannon, Claire and I went to eat supper at the local bar/restaurant- Skimos. Shannon and I ate prime rib and it was excellent. Harry D had the chicken philly which is also very good. All in all, it was a nice relaxing day.

Today has been a typical Sunday. On the way to church I went to Sam's doughnuts and got my 6 doughnut holes for breakfast. We had a good church service and Claire made her debut in the nursery. After church we were off to lunch at Corkeys. It's been a minute since I've been there. My stomach was hurting a little bit (due to the doughnuts for breakfast), so I only ate a little bit of my smoked chicken salad. But, what I did eat was very good. Next, I headed home for the usual Sunday afternoon nap, which is always nice!!! Now, it's laundry and cleaning and preparing for the work week.
